Punish, then retreat

After avoiding an attack or combo, limit the punish to one or two hits. Staying close exposes you to quick counterattacks in every direction.

Reduce the risk

Baited parries are most useful in the first phase. In the second, constant aggression sharply reduces openings: wait for a clear recovery before moving in.

• Both phases share an HP bar; their Poison resistances differ. Select the phase before comparing values.
• Solo HP and echoes without runes. The displayed defenses are for NG; their NG+ scaling is not quantified here.
• A defense is a calculation value, not a damage reduction percentage. A Poison resistance of 999 does not imply immunity.
