Beasthood — Bloodborne
Beasthood — Game mechanics, Bloodborne. An offensive meter that increases physical damage and lowers defence: thresholds, preparation and trade-offs.

Meter thresholds
| Meter buildup | Physical ATK | DEF |
|---|---|---|
| 1–24 | ×1,2 | ×0,8 |
| 25–49 | ×1,3 | ×0,7 |
| 50–99 | ×1,4 | ×0,6 |
| 100–199 | ×1,5 | ×0,5 |
| 200–299 | ×1,6 | ×0,4 |
| 300 and above | ×1,7 | ×0,2 |
The Defence column multiplies defence, rather than directly multiplying incoming damage. A fuller meter makes mistakes more costly.
Prepare, then build the meter
- A Beast Blood Pellet enables buildup for 60 seconds. Hits fill the meter, which gradually drains over time.
- The Beasthood stat determines the maximum capacity. Attire changes it, while high Insight reduces it.
- A large capacity only helps if you can fill the meter: R2 attacks and moves with multiple hits generally build it faster than simple R1 attacks.
What preserves or removes the benefit
While a pellet is active, switching weapons preserves the meter. The bonus only increases physical damage. The transformed Beast Claw does not stack its Beasthood activation with the pellet.
A Sedative reduces buildup: this sacrifices the offensive bonus, but can help restore your defences.
