Quest overview

Obtain the Wheel Hunter Badge, Alfred's gestures and the Radiance rune.

• Reach the lower chapel in Cathedral Ward.
• Then reach the Queen's Chamber in Cainhurst.

• The Pray gesture requires meeting him for the first time before nightfall.
• Giving Alfred the summons causes him to attack Annalise the next time the area loads.
• His summon signs disappear after he moves near the Forbidden Woods.

• Speak to Alfred near the small altar and accept his cooperation.
• Exhaust his dialogue before examining Amelia's skull.

3 Fire Papers and the Pray gesture.

Meeting him for the first time later, near the Woods, still allows you to continue, but the Pray gesture is lost.

After obtaining the Unopened Summons

• Take the Unopened Summons from the desk in Annalise's chamber in Cainhurst.
• Find Alfred on the road to the Forbidden Woods and give him the summons.

Wheel Hunter Badge and Church Bow (Male).

The next time the area loads, Alfred leaves to attack Annalise.

Exhaust the dialogue in the chamber

Cainhurst · Queen's Chamber

After handing over the summons and reloading

• Return to Annalise's chamber.
• Speak to Alfred until you receive his final gesture.

Roar gesture.

Killing him after receiving this gesture is another documented way to obtain the Radiance rune.

Return to the original altar

Cathedral Ward · lower chapel

After the conversation at Cainhurst

• Return to the small altar where you first met him.
• Examine his body and collect the rune.

Radiance rune; quest complete.
